And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.  When Jesus saw him … he saith unto him, “Wilt thou be made whole?” … the … man answered, “Sir, I have no man … to put me into the pool” … Jesus saith to him, “Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.”  Immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed and walked …

This except is from the story of Jesus visiting the pool at Bethesda where the paralyzed assembled awaiting the for the current in the water to stir so they might immerse themselves into the pool in the hope that the troubled waters might cure their affliction.

The election for President today is a simple thing to understand.  It has one and only one salient issue and it is this: Are we a nation of believers or are we not?

As to the story above do we believe are those at the Bethesda pool, or do we not?

What do I mean?

I tell you a story.  I saw an unmarried woman who supported Hillary Clinton interviewed yesterday and the woman, probably in her late twenties or early thirties, was asked what she wanted from this election and she responded that she wanted to have a job with a good salary and “just some government help to raise her child.”   Yes, she wanted a “Sugar Daddy.”

My point.  The Democrat Party of the Left has made government our god and savior.  Yes, they are the purveyors of unbelief.  In them, he or she who seeks power in elected office is the savior.

There is, of course, vast evidence of the failure and decline that comes to our nation in thinking we are God.  Yet, more and more the evidence is denied and more and more people become enslaved, dependent on government – and like the Hillary supporter and the paralyzed man in the above story – they wait for someone else to do for them what they can do for themselves.  Yes, unbelief enslaves and that is precisely what the Democrat Party of the Left desires – that you be their slaves, beholding to them, powerless, that they might speak for you and tell you what to think and say.  In this they are precisely like Communists.

This election asks one and only one question:  Are you a Believer or an Unbeliever?

He that hearth my word, and believeth on Him that sent me, hath everlasting life … is passed from death to life.

Jn 5:24

Life or death?

Shalom.
