… one soldier thrust his lance into his side, and immediately blood and water flowed out.

Jn 19:34

We will all be injured in this life, assaulted even.  For life is difficult and injuries come and aggression is present and will find us.  Such is the way of darkness and there is evil present.

But do not feel diminished or alone.  For in your injury you join Christ.  His wounds are your wounds and your wounds are His wounds.  There is no pain that surpasses His presence, His love of you.

Gather with believers.  There you will find strength and fellowship.

In difficult times such as these – times of persecution and hostility aimed at believers, stay together.  Is it not likely that God strengthens us when we are out-of-favor with others?  When we are targets of the evil ones?

His side is our side.  His wounds are our wounds.  Our wounds are His wounds. His death is our life, our eternal life – the source of our courage and good cheer, our confidence and our strength.

His resurrection is our future, a certain and eternal life in Him.

Faith.  Courage.  Fellowship.  One in Him.  For we are Christians.
